righteous dancing before the Lord. The devil will always try to turn any good thing away from God. He was even able to corrupt a creation that was “very good” in God’s eyes to the point that it was intolerable to God in Noah’s time. Praise God we do not need to follow the devil’s schemes. By the power of Jesus, we can hold fast to what is good (like dance) without letting the devil destroy it. In Lamentations 5:15-16 we can see what caused joy and dancing to cease. “The joy of our hearts has ceased; our dancing has been turned into mourning. The crown has fallen from our head; Woe to us, for we have sinned!” At that time it was sin that stopped dancing; not dancing that caused sin. |

God showed there is no age limit on dance in Exodus 15:20 where Miriam led all the women in dancing after the Red Sea miracle. Moses was eighty at the time so his older sister, Miriam was not young when she led the dance for God. All the women praised God in the dance that day. As we read Jeremiah 31:13-14, we see "Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old, together, For I will turn their mourning into joy And will comfort them and give them joy for their sorrow.” God wants us all to dance with rejoicing. |
